SPORTS I LIKE
Rugby
I began watching rugby at a young age, and like every other Papua New Guinean kid, I grew up playing the sport as if my future depended on it. With so many different versions of the sport, my personal favourite would indeed be rugby league. Rugby League necessitates serious teamwork. The main objective is to accumulate more points than the opponent by crossing the try line or kicking the ball through a set of goal posts. As you can see my favorite NRL (National Rugby League) team is Roosters, I'm a die-hard Rooster fan.
Soccer
Second only to rugby, soccer was a sport I grew up playing and participated in some major competitions. Soccer is a team sport that involves two teams of 11 players using a spherical ball. It is the most popular sport in the world, with nearly 250 million players in over 200 countries and dependencies. A pitch is a rectangular field with a goal at each end where the match takes place. The goal of the game is to score more goals than the opposing team in 90 minutes or less by moving the ball beyond the goal line and into the opponent's goal.
Basketball
Basketball is a sport played on a rectangular court by two teams of five players each, usually indoors. Each team attempts to score by tossing the ball through the opposing goal, which is an elevated horizontal hoop and net known as a basket.
Basketball has grown in popularity for a variety of reasons, including;
- Basketball is a lot of fun to play.
- Basketball is characterized by a fast and exciting pace of play.
Furthermore, each player on the court gets to play both offense and defense, and each player's role is only loosely defined.
